Powerboating excitement returns to the Lake of the Ozarks this week, with Lake Race 2016.

The annual race brings the roar of powerboat racing to the Lake as competitors race around a four-mile course that begins at Bagnell Dam. Crowds watch from the water along the race course, or by land from Wilmore Lodge or Beavers at the Dam.

The races are sanctioned by the Offshore Powerboat Association and the major sponsor is the Performance Boat Center. The Race Headquarters is Beavers at the Dam.

Lake Race Schedule:

  • Wednesday, June 2, 6 p.m. - Volunteer Party and Training, at Beavers at the Dam.

  • Thursday, June 2, 4–9 p.m. - The Festival of Speed, Osage Beach Parkway West of the Grand Glaize Bridge.  Fast boats, cars, motorcycles, go carts and more will be on display along with vendors, food and beverage tents open, too.  All parking will be in Lake of the Ozarks State Park with shuttles to bring visitors to the event site.

  • Friday, June 3, 4 p.m. - Street Meet and Greet, on the Bagnell Dam Strip. Racing boats will be on display. Visitors can meet the race teams, take pictures and enjoy the many shops and restaurants up and down the Strip.
